Question for all the Mattingly-heads, where is the love for George Foster, who accumulated similar career WAR, an MVP and had a super similar four year peak

The most important outcome of this Hall of Fame voting process is that we don't have to deal with Bonds/Clemens discourse for 6 years now. My entire childhood following baseball into post-college has been inundated with this insufferable debate

This was always my main issue with Dodgers free agent discourse, where you'd get some people (not OP) praising the Dodgers for choosing to spend and ridiculing 29 other teams for "not spending" even when several other teams will make competitive-to-superior financial offers to said players.
The Reds actually could not do this, their ownership isn’t rich enough and they’re in Ohio. Ironically, Toronto has been trying and can’t recruit enough talent, either player or staff, to go to Canada.

This is such an underdiscussed aspect of all the people whining about payroll disparity. As unfortunate as it is for those fanbases, it's good to have a variety of competence throughout the sport. Teams that don't really know what they're doing are necessary players in baseball's theater.
If you create a world where all 30 teams basically think the same way and all have roughly equal economics, you’re going to actually destroy the fucking sport

Julio swinging at 6 balls with the season on the line lmao

First time Toronto has ever had controversy over a throw hitting something unexpectedly in a winner take all game

but, genuinely, when did we stop being able to actually analyze baseball and talk about whether any of this is a good idea?

I don't really care that much about Kerkering's error, the Phillies played embarrassing offensively as though this was a getaway game in June. They had 4 hits. They lost because they had 4 hits

Phillies continuing to approach these ABs like they're rushing a travel Sunday home game down 6-0

Why did he bunt
October 7, 2025 at 1:17 AM
If they lose I'm legitimately ok with Thomson being fired for the bunt decision. I'd be fine if we keep him, but wow was that just insanity

The amount of fans that haven't left is embarrassing

Schwarber took a hanger and whiffed on a nitro zone fastball.

Harper is just cooked, man. He's just so depressingly cooked. Cookie over the heart of the plate just popped up

This is legitimately one of the most nauseating losses I've ever watched. I don't think anything compares

Gutless display by the Phillies fans, why are the boos so subdued
October 7, 2025 at 12:18 AM
Trea Turner has to throw that to the inner part of the plate and he's out by a mile

Chasing a 2-0 changeup off the plate from an increasingly erratic pitcher. Peak Alec Bohm

Thank you J.T. for swinging at ball four

Time for Gabe Kapler to bring out the curveball machine
October 5, 2025 at 1:16 AM
Should be 2 on and no outs right now
October 3, 2025 at 12:02 AM
There is a boomer voice inside my head getting extremely bored at the low scoring games full of adrenaline amped relievers pitching too much, making the game feel like an All-Star game style offensive struggle
September 30, 2025 at 11:33 PM
Valente Bellozo is a fascinating pitcher. Legitimately some of the most bland stuff I've ever seen and yet he just gets outs with his similarly nonchalant windup
