Even though it was for the silliest thing I’ve ever written, I just wanted to share with #writingcommunity that I got my first short story published in print. I can’t believe I found a suitably silly journal 🤪

Does the fact that i’m going through a Cher phase mean I’m entering middle age? I’m only 34… i thought I had more time 😕

Nothing like a rainy summer run to make me feel just grateful that I get to be here.

At this point, I think it’d be unprecedented if something… well, precedented, happened.

I need a part replaced on my bike, so I rode it along the Greenway to the bike shop, then caught a streetcar to the ferry to get back home. Couldn’t help but to think, what a cool little adventure!

I’m agnostic, but honestly, policies based on Jesus’s teachings wouldn’t be so bad. They’d be: vague, empathetic, inclusive, and progressive. The christian nationalist don’t even know what’s in the book. Their gospel is cruelty.

Valerian: City of a Thousand Planets, is one of the worst movies I’ve seen in a very long time.

From a barron’s article. This totally ignores that reduced-methane cows will still either cause deforestation on a massive scale, unless their raised in CAFOs which are wildly inhumane.
There’s no way to ethically AND sustainably raise cattle.

Louisiana’s governor is so Godly he’ll…. *checks notes* ….umm…
June 19, 2024 at 11:51 PM
FYI, Louisiana’s governor just signed into law surgical castration for sex offenders, and a requirement to hang 10 commandments in every public school classroom.
This is Christian nationalism, arcane and cruel.
Our state has such great need, but our leaders are fixated on causing liberal outrage.

Great first step to tackle food waste and, by extension, food waste related greenhouse gas emissions.

Biden isn’t my ideal candidate, but between not-quite-good-enough efforts in the right direction, and SCOTUS appointees, it’s a pretty easy vote to cast.

The government will look at ways to extend the shelf life of foods and to create more composting and other facilities, as well as urge companies to donate more food.

I forgot that modern southern summers doesn’t just mean extreme heat, but also unsafe air. I’m willing to go for runs when it’s hot, but my lungs react poorly to high ozone levels.

I have a fairly minor medical concern, which has given me a refresher course in two things I already knew:
1) American medical infrastructure is totally fucked
2) google is an extremely dangerous place for someone with medical questions, and now with AI it’s become more reckless and consequential

Hey #writingcommunity
What’s your favorite craft magazine? I’m currently skipping 2/3 of the articles in a Writer’s Digest. I used to really like that magazine but, one or both of us has changed.

I mostly write fiction.
