Around 100 counterprotesters from Stand Up to Racism, Oxford for Trans Rights, and the Oxford Green Party chanting ‘We don’t want your culture war’ were also in Bonn Square. Thames Valley Police were present to keep the various protests separate.

The people of Oxford showed up on mass to resist the far right and Posie Parker's hateful rhetoric today. Sadly, the government's silence has left a vacuum which these groups have rushed to fill. Never welcome in our city. Also big thanks to whoever handed me this sign. #GenderAnarchy #TransRights 🏳️‍⚧️

An important petition for Oxford better transport fans: a bus hub as part of the station redesign. Yes to more buses, no to more multi storey car parks. Do sign and share!

I thought @zackpolanski.bsky.social was brilliant on #BBCQT tonight despite a hostile panel and personal attacks. Calling out fascism and racism rather than blaming immigrants, calling for a wealth tax rather than blaming poor and disabled people for needing a properly funded welfare system.

I really hate the dogwhistle "would you leave your front door open for anyone to come in" question. That's the wrong question.
The real analogy is "If a stranger knocked on your door and asked you for help, would you help them?"

and for me, the answer is yes, in a heartbeat. every time.
Very proud of my fellow Green councillors for proposing this motion. "We are a rich tapestry, we are strengthened by our diversity, and we must stand up as a council and as a city for that diversity, unite against the far right and the divisive narratives of them." www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Had an amazing weekend at the Green Party Conference. Catching up with old friends and making lots (and lots) of new ones as the party's membership soars. Inspiring to be a small part of a movement that's bringing hope rather than hate and light in what can sometimes seem like ever darker times. 🏖️☀️💚
