People already working hard to prove how perfect Alex Pretti was. To show he didn't "deserve" to be killed. But it's a trap folks. You're only feeding into a dynamic where people who are considered lesser get no protection. You don't have to be an Alex Pretti to deserve to live.

There’s lot to be said about how little AI shills know about art, but not enough is said about how little they think of fandom, of community, of all the people who bring the art to each other. That’s why it’s never gonna happen like they want. They’ll never have the adulation they crave.

people complaining about bsky algo wont survive pre-tiktok social media, this is literally your last chance to grow organically like we did nearly a decade ago. its easier to grow on bsky, even with zero followers your posts are seen, no hashtags needed! this is great for artists

I keep seeing that “Gen Z Republicans, let’s ask them what’s up” thing going around and honestly I remember a bunch of kids my age having those beliefs when I was younger, too. It’s not some new thing. Regressive ideas get taught and reinforced all the time.

I think the fundamental gap here is that non-creative people think that creative people make things for the end product, when in fact it’s the act of creation and not the end point that makes it worthwhile.
I have grown to believe that excessive wealth does something to your brain that is analogous to a serious head injury

When you're like "geez there's no animation jobs" "geez there's like no new shows anymore", this is why

If you're going to make a post praising an incredible news photo, it's a real bad look when you don't include the photographer credit in the post.

lol gentle reminder that DEI is not illegal. Supporting marginalized groups is not illegal. Anyone reneging on support is making a CHOICE to do so.

These puff pieces of sad white people always boil down to "but I thought he'd only hurt the blacks and the gays, like he promised". These pieces don't convince people to turn against Trump, they convince centrist idiots to forgive those who will shoot them in the back as soon as they can.
People’s reactions to these stories tend to be of the leopards-eating-faces variety but this is a great piece of reporting in part about how voters very disconnected from politics make their choices.

I think maybe perhaps a political movement that can't participate in online spaces without getting a free pass to break completely normal codes of conduct like "don't engage in stalking, harassment campaigns and hate speech" doesn't have to retain access to those online spaces
