Trump's censor in chief at the FCC, Brendan Carr, just sent a letter to the heads of BBC, NPR and PBS informing them he's launching a "news distortion" probe into the BBC's editing of a documentary on Trump's Jan. 6 activities.

Here it is:

As Democratic FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez said last week: "Capitulation breeds capitulation."

Disney/ABC's $16 million dollar payout to Trump in December didn't earn the company any special favors today.
Trump in response to an Epstein question: "ABC, your company, your crappy company is one of the perpetrators. I think the license should be taken away from ABC because your news is so fake and so wrong. And we have a great commissioner, a chairman, who should take a look at that."

the most chilling part of trump's horribleness about jamal isn't just the lies & disrespect. it's what's in his mind, it's the idea that critics & journalists 'have it coming'. is it a green light to murder? maybe.

Just the president of the United States rationalizing that a Washington Post reporter was basically asking to be murdered and cut to pieces with a bone saw because of his reporting.

As he sits next to the thug who ordered it.

My unsolicited & just one guy two cents is that unconsolidated fascism is a massive threat & yes it's not full fascism yet & no one serious actually says that it is but let's not wait until it is to call the fascists fascist OK?
1. If America were fascist right now, I would not be posting here. Neither would you.

Instead, I - and you - would be trying to build networks of people *offline* who can support and protect each other, in the dark, rather than yelling at the president and his stooges in our own names. /2

Breaking News: Cornell University reached an agreement with the Trump administration that would restore hundreds of millions in funding to the university. It's expected to pay a $30 million fine to the government and to invest $30 million in agriculture and farming programs.

When one MP crosses the floor and an entire province loses all opposition voices, it shows just how broken our voting system is.

Proportional representation would ensure no party can sweep every seat without sweeping the vote.

it's fun how the degenerate gambling/crypto/corruption plotlines are all converging.
My God they've just created a machine that incentivizes every Trump staffer to break the economy (and much else) on purpose so they can insider trade on Truth Social.

Literally every insider trading son of a bitch in this regime is gonna be deliberately *increasing* volatility as much as possible.
"Truth Social users will be able to trade prediction contracts related to major events and milestones, such as political elections, interest and inflation rate changes, commodity prices on gold and crude oil, events across all major sports leagues"

What the bloody hell?

Even with this sanitized (not declassified) report from NSICOP, nowhere is the case made out for Bill C-2's intercept technologies or even the specifics of what they're asking for. If the public safety minister were to release what he'd propose as regulations, we could have a real discussion.
Do police and CSIS need new “lawful intercept” powers to keep up with technology?

Parliament says yes. But in a new declassified report meant to justify Bill C-2, it offers little hard data to back this up.

The perversion of our nonpartisan criminal justice system exactly mirrors the methods used to establish the Erdoğan dictatorship in Turkey—now in its 22nd year.

Forcing public servants to “find” crimes by political opponents equates to suspending our Constitution. It will harm all on Right & Left.
No evidence, but the pretextual case isn't dismissed. DOJ will instead keep looking to find some way to bring charges against Schiff. Even when the president's opponents escape charges (for now), it's still heads Trump wins tails they lose. www.nbcnews.com/politics/jus...

This is chilling. The President is asserting authority to kill completely outside of the law. And plans to keep at it.

We are not at war, and he is ignoring the criminal laws that actually apply (eg, murder).

No limiting principle stops him from doing this to others he labels "terrorists."
