🚨 ICE disappeared a woman on Wednesday night. She was grabbed by men in plainclothes and taken to an unidentified location.

In countries that don't, it can be difficult for babies to acquire citizenship & some end up stateless--without a nationality
That creates problems--a subclass of people w/out ID docs who are unable to access school, for ex.

SUMMARY: This interim final rule (“IFR”) amends existing DHS and DOJ regulations. It
provides exclusive DHS procedures for the issuance of civil monetary penalties under the
Immigration and Nationality Act for aliens who fail to depart voluntarily during the voluntary
departure period, willfully fail or refuse to depart after a final removal order and certain other
proscribed activities, or are apprehended while improperly entering or attempting to enter the

Accurate. It’s bad. People disappear for days at a time only to pop up in an overcrowded hellhole in Louisiana — or DHS finally admits the person was deported a few days earlier.

I am struggling to square today's order with the Supreme Court's ruling that migrants targeted for removal to El Salvador under the Alien Enemies Act must be afforded meaningful due process. Why shouldn't these migrants, who face banishment to countries they've never stepped foot in, get the same?
