Switched to light mode on my iPhone and iPad after years of dark mode. Feels like walking out of a movie theater during the day into the sunlight. Getting used to how bright it is, but I really like the colors and looks of apps in light mode better.

Listening to Rage Against the Machine while snow blowing this morning was a great choice. “Wake Up”, especially, should be required listening for everyone in 2025. @tommorelloofficial.bsky.social

Vance is openly calling for the end of the constitutional order here, which is a betrayal of his oath of office. It is as plain as day now, Loper Bright ain’t gonna save you
Interestingly, in Loper Bright vs Raimondo, the conservative majority on SCOTUS ruled just last year that the judiciary can in fact overrule regulatory decisions made by the executive branch especially when those decisions are not specified by Congress.

Has anyone studied how much alcohol consumption has increased in the US in the past 2 weeks and then cross referenced that by political affiliation? I would bet some solid money it’s way up. This dumpster fire is getting worse by the minute.

I really hope Sonos can actually fix the app. Half the time it can’t find my speakers.

Is there a way in Shortcuts to detect if I’m connected to CarPlay? I want to change what my Action Button does whether it’s in CarPlay or not. @matthewcassinelli.bsky.social @stephenrobles.com @viticci.macstories.net maybe one of you knows the answer?

Really hoping more sports folks move over here to Bluesky. A lot of my favorite soccer feeds are here already, but golf, and Formula 1 particularly I'd love to see more of over here.

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, and hangs out with a bunch of other ducks, and writes for a german newspaper saying vote for the alt-right duck party, and does a nazi salute like a duck... my dude, that's a duck and you should throw away your duckmobile.

It's ok to unfollow people to try and get away from political discourse for a while. I'm mostly saying this for myself, but prioritizing your own mental health is important. It doesn't mean you don't care or that you don't want to see a positive change in the world.

If @openvibe.social synced timeline positions between devices, it would be the perfect app for using Bluesky and Mastodon

Verified my domain and changed my handle here to @mattbanks.me. Pretty straightforward to do, and I'm happy that @bsky.app reserves your old username for you automatically.

If anyone from Apple’s Screen Time or Parental Controls team somehow sees this, please add an option to prevent kids from permanently deleting text messages from the Recently Deleted section. Or deleting at all.

Shrinking named an episode “The Drugs Don’t Work” and I waited the whole time to hear this song and they never played it. Now I have it on repeat. The episode and all of season 2 was fantastic, by the way. music.apple.com/us/album/the...

Been using the Apple Podcasts app for the past week or two after having too many crashes with Overcast lately. Enjoying Apple Podcasts, but it’s not good at syncing between devices. Having listening position or played status sync between my iPhone and iPad is rough.

I wish more AI tools were like the RAW denoise in Lightroom - a wild technological improvement that breathed new life into my old cameras, made me love taking photos all over again, and which feels like all the training is in service of making new art, not merely stealing the old

Been using Reeder as an RSS client with Feedbin for years. Giving @unread.app a try instead. So far, I'm really liking the design!

I would pay good money for a Tapbots port of Ivory/Tweetbot for Bluesky
Are there any Bluesky client apps that preserve my reading position in the timeline? I’ve tried the official app, Skeets, and Openvibe, none of which seem to know that reading position is even a thing. A fresh launch of the app puts me at the very top of the timeline every time.
