I see many parallels with the tech industry now. That app you used to spend 3 months on will be done in a matter of weeks or even days.
A lot of the angst around AI is the certainty that it’s coming for the few jobs and sense of stability still left.

This is the creative destruction of capitalism.

Social media has created new jobs like being an influencer but at the expense of jobs in advertising and production of yesteryear.

After trying Replit and Cursor, it does make you question where we'll be 5-10 years from now.

Small teams of highly skilled (or highly motivated & curious) people are the future for sure.

I've always been bullish towards small teams. Was never a big fan of large team/manufacturing narrative.
Replit’s CEO joins the growing chorus of tech CEOs from AI startups like Anthropic & OpenAI to big tech, arguing learning to code is obsolete as AI will take all the coding jobs in a few years.

This must be an extremely demoralizing message for people getting CS degrees or early in their careers.
‘Don’t study coding now,’ says Replit CEO, ‘instead learn how to…’
Repli CEO Amjad Masad said that since AI will take over coders in future, one should not waste time on studying coding now.

Went from an M1 MacBook Pro to an M4 MacBook Air with same specs as below. Had doubts but after a week I 100% agree with the statement.

Don't miss the 120hz screen but do miss the keyboard but the 1 lbs difference makes up for it.

Doesn't sound very complicated when you put it that way.
Most of what we call "tech" is about getting the right information into a database and trying to prevent the wrong person from reading or updating it.

This game is just insane.

Something to think about. Building software is not just about producing code.
"While engineers report being dramatically more productive with AI, the actual software we use daily doesn’t seem like it’s getting noticeably better."

Trump will impose 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico for no good reason.

IMO, our response to tariffs should be:

- Make entrepreneurship more attractive in Canada
- Reduce dependency on US jobs and products
- Explore other markets (Europe, Asia, LATAM)

Not certain we can win an eye for an eye tariffs fight. Could be wrong.

Wow. it must feel terrible when someone takes something you made and uses it without permission or payment

Pondering doing this - don't think I'll be able to sever from Apple though, just too invested in the ecosystem at this point.

Wondering if its not best to pick up a MacBook now given tariffs will be applied on products made in China combined with CAD which will go down in the next months.

Data showing the top 16% of remote workers outperform the top 5% in-office, while the bottom 12% underperform the bottom 5% in-office, makes sense.

Top performers thrive with extra time from no commute, but underperformers struggle without oversight. RTO penalizes top talent for others’ inability.

I love AI chatbots as a search replacement but wonder about their long-term ecosystem.

ChatGPT is great for advice on my son’s high school football, but only because websites like Reddit share info. As paywalls rise and traffic drops due to AI, where will the next wave of useful answers come from?
