What a joke……!
I’m a past winner of the Orwell Prize & won partly because I exposed Vote Leave’s unlawful activities.

Michael Gove was its co-convener & refused to answer a single q. He’s now a judge of the prize & our world is truly one that Orwell would recognise

Bluesky's updated guidelines do not allow "sexual content involving non-consensual activity", while allowing "consensual" ones under certain conditions.
However, it is unclear how they work with fictional characters.
I think the point should be clarified.

One of the major problems of Trump the US President is he is not only ignorant of history but he talks as if he knew, whether he genuinely believes so or casually lies, pretending to know.
Trump: "The whole issue of the women. Comfort women. Very specifically. We talked and that was a very big problem for Korea, not for Japan. Japan was, wanted to go, they want to get on. But Korea was very stuck on that."

Monkeys falling from trees and baking barnacles: how heat is driving animals to extinction
With the number of very hot days rising as well as average temperatures, more and more animals are vulnerable. But while some species can adapt, others are seeing huge population declines

I heard "Climate Shift Index", which

I wonder how reliable the index is.
@keisakurai.bsky.social refers to it on Twitter, so maybe ok?

Future generations will ask:

"Who did what, and when?

Who made this abomination possible?

Who spoke out - and who remained silent?"

I have been very, very cautious about the analogy of Nazi Germany and Israel because of the specifically anti-Jewish legacy of the Holocaust that's still with us.

This is a convincing prediction for what will happen in LA…↓
In case you're wondering, authoritarians use this strategy of escalation to manufacture crisis, provoke outrage, then use the reaction to justify repression. It’s not about restoring order, it's about creating a spectacle of chaos they can claim only they can control.
Escalating to escalate.

NBC reports that, shockingly, during his latest Moscow pilgrimage Witkoff met with Putin and his two negotiators alone and without his own interpreter, relying - in breach of protocol - on a locally present one www.nbcnews.com/world/russia.... However, this seems half the problem (1/n)
Trump envoy relied on Kremlin interpreter in meetings with Putin to end war in Ukraine
Using the Kremlin’s interpreter was “a very bad idea” that put Witkoff “at a real disadvantage,” Michael McFaul, a former U.S. ambassador to Russia, told NBC News.
