When brainstorming a story, it doesn't matter whether you begin with your plot or your characters first. Develop in whatever order works for you. But when the work is finished, it has to feel like the two are inextricable - like one couldn't exist without the other. If it doesn't, you've failed.

Changing your life & environment can be immediately transformative. It’s been 4 months and I haven’t felt depressed to the point of having daily dark thoughts because I have surrounded myself with uplifting supportive people. Who genuinely accept me for me and want the best for me. Life is worth it!

Being a writer is almost entirely about perseverance. Life is going to continuously try to keep you from writing or from getting published or from getting things made, and you just have to get in life's way and say “No.”
