Another day, another pedestrian struck by a car in #Winnipeg, according to the Winnipeg Free Press. Its six days in and we are already off to a poor start in terms of vehicular violence against vulnerable road users.

There is no reason to block an intersection. It does not matter that you might have to sit through a couple of light cycles. You should not be blocking intersections EVER!

I learned on my bike ride home that it is acceptable to kill someone you cannot see. I also learned that there are people in Winnipeg who are blind and drive. All my lights were on and bright and my upper body is yellow and glows in the dark. If I did not swerve off the road. I'd be dead.

Does anyone have the latest COVID numbers? A high percentage of people I know are out sick with a terrible cold right now.

Is the newest COVID vaccine and the fly vaccine available in Manitoba yet?

Is there a point in reporting? Bus turned across bike path on transit way nearly causing collision with 2 bikes. Then same bus did it again. A worker and a truck have been parked in a bike lane for 24+ hours. A car parked in a bike lane for 1 day. Pothole blocking bike lane for 3 months.

I'm watching Air Canada load luggage onto a plane. A bag made it to the top of the conveyor belt but rather than continue on to the plane, it fell about 6 feet to the ground. I hope it was packed well.

Part of the phenomenon is many people don't actually have allergies, they have newly developed histamine intolerance/ mast cell activation syndrome from multiple sars-cov-2 infections.

They’re destroying federal science capacity & California needs to step up & expand science capacity at the state level.

I introduced SB 829 to create the California Institute for Scientific Research & authorize the State of California to produce vaccines. It just passed the Senate Health Committee.

There are a lot of disabled (temporarily or longer term) people who can't *drive* too. But we don't use that to say we shouldn't build new road infrastructure for drivers either.

Does anyone know how much Dynacare charges for a home visit in Winnipeg and whether homecare covers the charge?

A “friend” just told me I couldn’t visit any more until I was “better”. That they would prefer not to deal with sick in their home.

Chronic illness is just that. It’s chronic. We don’t “get better”.

When you say something like this, you’re excluding us from your life entirely.

If you're teaching a graduate level course, I beg you to include a module on how to schedule and run a meeting.

Time zones, calendar invites, links, agendas, minutes, chairing.

Together we can be the change we so desperately need.

“If you were really that sick you would be in hospital”

That’s not how it works. Chronically ill people are always sick. Yes, “that sick”

Hospitals deal with acute & life threatening issues. They’re one of the most dangerous places for the chronically ill.

They often can’t (or won’t) help us
