Their reason for wanting to know is so they can be sure the person needs accomodations. How do they think they are experts who can assess? It is none of their business.

I was asked recently about the consequences of providing accomodations to those that do not really need them. Why do they not see that there are greater consequences to not providing accomodations to those that do.

That's not my experience. Dehumanizing is the word I would use. I was told that the ones begging for it are the ones who clearly do not need it. The ones saying they do not need it when offered are the ones who need it. I have yet to meet anyone who was offered it and did not have to beg.

A driver came out of a parking lot today and would have killed me if I hadn't swerved off the road. His reason? He did not see me. My bike lights were all on and bright. My upper body was yellow and glowed in the dark. Tomorrow will be tough with people like that on the road.

The driver did not apologize. He said he did not see me. He did not think he did anything wrong. Can I post pictures of him and his car?

"There is nothing wrong with you. If you had kidney stones, you would be in so much pain that you would not be able to move. Please leave the ER to those that need it." Will they ever learn that those of us with chronic pain present differently?

Then there were the times before that. "If she was in that much pain, she would be begging us for pain medications" I would rather die than go through that again.
