NZ is trailing its allies over Palestinian statehood – but there’s still time to show leadership

Important contribution from my Te Herenga Waka-VUW and Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha-UC colleagues on the history, achievements, and limits of the 🇳🇿 Citizenship (Western Samoa) (Restoration) Amendment Act 2024. 👏
Nikitha Aithal, Helena Cook, Marnie Lloydd and Julija Sardelić focus on 🇳🇿 2024 citizenship restoration for Sāmoans, arguing it treats the symptoms, not the systems of colonial injustice

Justice means dismantling ongoing racism & exclusion, not just restoring legal status ⚖️

The Christchurch mosque terrorism attacks has cost NZ more than than $2 billion, took 51 productive live,s and damaged countless more. There is no need or good reason to put these on the table.
