I was explaining to my Ukrainian colleague the phrase ‘There’s no such thing as a free lunch’. She told me the equivalent in Ukrainian is ‘The only free cheese is in the mousetrap’ - which is so much better

Sad to hear of the passing of Brian Wilson..I managed to see 2 of his gigs, and they were phenomenal...literally not a single note wasted...all the hits and Pet Sounds in it's entireity in between...

People like to think Asimov predicted the current technology known as "artificial intelligence". They are wrong. It was Douglas Adams when a computer spent untold resources just to return an answer which is both irrelevant and poses further questions.

I've been in meetings like this.. :-(
If you're in a large meeting and they ask if there are any questions, the idea is to ask questions that might be relevant to a reasonable number of those listening. Fifty people do not need to sit and listen to you asking if the strip light above your desk can be fixed.

Though those of us who watch Michael McIntyre's Big Show enjoy the Midnight Gameshow segment, I think I speak for all of us when I say we're secretly hoping that Michael turns up in the bedroom of someone in the middle of cheating on their partner. Now that would be quality TV.
