This would put the refurbishment cost on-par with the total construction costs of the most expensive buildings in the world.

Abandon it and move parliament out of London.

I cannot express quite how angry the inefficiency, complacency and 19th century practices of lawyers - and the courts system - make me. Does nobody have the power or will to tell them to buck their fucking ideas up?

Today I am mostly furious about the fact that one arm of the state being too lazy to do their job can cause you problems with a different arm of the state who need far too long to do theirs. And you have no alternative but to deal with either of them. Pricks.

I don't know when it happened, but medicine in the UK is now an exercise in telling you:

1. there's no need to do something
or 2. it's someone else's problem to do something
or 3. maybe wait a bit and then we'll re-check (at which point you choose another excuse from this list)

Look: there's absolutely a political argument for high tax rates on high earners. You can agree with it or disagree with it. Fine.

There's no argument for high tax rates on £60-80k and £100-125k and lower rates on £125k+

None.

"Standard - £16.00 despatched on the 15th working day from receipt of order"

Jesus fucking christ, GRO, you're printing a PDF and putting it in the post, not hand engraving something on a stone tablet. You inefficient pricks.

The number of authoritarians across the entire left-right spectrum in the UK is now utterly terrifying me.

One of the things that people don’t understand about Keir Starmer is that he’s an authoritarian. I first met him in 2011 when he was DPP and drew that conclusion then. I know he has a human rights background, but it’s not where he is now, or has been for some time.
Among the many terrifying things about this, is the thought that actual terrorists are probably making hay because the anti-terror police are putting resources into this utter nonsense.
Will I be arrested for posting this?

Apparently, requesting basic competence is now offensive.

Funny how markets are great when they benefit London and the South-East (see the Treasury Green Book investment assessment fiascos) whilst if it looks it might benefit other regions at the expense of the capital (see Zonal energy pricing) they need to be monumentally stomped down on.

Is there a single competent, reasonably priced, car insurance company? Dealing with Admiral is like being charged to punch yourself in the face.

I do not want your app. I do not want to register. I do not want your newsletter. And, from the bottom of my heart, I do not want your notifications. Please just let me buy what I need without entering into a long-term relationship with you, you freaky fucks.
Everyone wants me to install their infernal apps! Ugh! Who will rid us of this plague of apps?!!!

A complete overhaul of Britain's absurdly toothless and fragmented anti-money laundering regulatory system is now even more urgent than it was.

If regulators didn't think this case broke the rules, then either the rules or the regulators -- or, more likely, both -- are complete bollocks.

Never had such a bunch of low intelligence, selfish, self centred fuckwits run the UK since 2016. None of them from the actual MP’s to civil servants have a fucking clue. There only in it to defraud the state and enrich themselves. Shameful.
