Today I am mostly furious about the fact that one arm of the state being too lazy to do their job can cause you problems with a different arm of the state who need far too long to do theirs. And you have no alternative but to deal with either of them. Pricks.

I don't know when it happened, but medicine in the UK is now an exercise in telling you:
1. there's no need to do something
or 2. it's someone else's problem to do something
or 3. maybe wait a bit and then we'll re-check (at which point you choose another excuse from this list)

One of the things that people don’t understand about Keir Starmer is that he’s an authoritarian. I first met him in 2011 when he was DPP and drew that conclusion then. I know he has a human rights background, but it’s not where he is now, or has been for some time.
Among the many terrifying things about this, is the thought that actual terrorists are probably making hay because the anti-terror police are putting resources into this utter nonsense.
