Here mostly for the baseball and potentially side conversations about education, since Mastodon doesn't have a lot of that
I wish I could tell Apple to put apps in different categories in the App Library. Can't say my use of Google Meet for work is particularly "social"

Real question: what would be the impact if we split the difference on PI penalties by placing the ball halfway between the line of scrimmage and the spot of the foul?

I officially left Art of Problem Solving on January 1. After over 7 years of full-time employment, and over 8 years total when I include contract work and my summer internship, I have my second post-college employer: Inflection Point Learning.

I officially left Art of Problem Solving on January 1. After over 7 years of full-time employment, and over 8 years total when I include contract work and my summer internship, I have my second post-college employer: Inflection Point Learning. The upshot is that AoPS partially own IPL, and nearly every person in our small Institutional Sales department moved with me.

I've been caught between my historical Twins fandom and rooting for the Giants after living in SF

It's sure looking a lot like 2026 will be more about the Giants

when MLB dropped "diversity" from its career site, I reached out to every team, including those with live DEI pages.

None committed to their current efforts. Almost nobody responded!

One week before Jackie Robinson Day, my take on the leaguewide silence:

Most MLB teams have DEI programs. Why won’t any commit to them or talk about it? | Opinion
In the Trump era, when even Jackie Robinson is at risk, the sport is quiet about diversity efforts it used to tout. | Opinion

So this is what I spent all week working on. There are two former University of Minnesota baseball players on this season of Love Is Blind. I went through every one of their box scores that I could find and examined how they played and how they did against future major leaguers

No need for satire, just say exactly what's happening. (This is a good article.)

I'm looking at streaks of 4+ games for a batter getting at least 1 hit and 2 strikeouts in each of those games.

Reggie Jackson and Miguel Sano each had 5 such streaks, the most all time.

The longest such streak is 6 games (Christopher Morel in 2024, Alex Rodriguez in 2000.) #baseball
