When an organism lives inside another organism, it is called inquilinism. Modern giant clams have shrimp specially adapted to live in their gill cavity. @paleoadiel.bsky.social and colleagues described inquiline shrimp in the body cavity of giant Cretaceous inoceramid bivalves! (224)

My new Zoanthid coral came with an Asterina starfish. This is why you quarantine your corals folks! Well, except if you're me—I hope to adopt a pair of harlequin shrimp soon, which exclusively eat starfish. Go forth and multiply, little Asterina.

Speaking of reef tanks, next time people say they're difficult I can tell them about how I returned from my holiday to find mine missing 1/3 of its water (salinity through the roof!) and at 32 °C. You know who didn't give a crap? Xenia. Just pulsing along as usual. #reef #coral #fishkeeping
