In reality Black American and intersectional thinkers continued to use liberalism's foundations to expand the structure of rights those foundations supported. And as they gained cultural traction, social salience and political purchase, white liberals moved the goalposts of "true" liberalism.

like the tail risk counterfactual of trump going kinetic against the opposition and constitution outright isn't a magically consolidated regime, it's an american failstate (even if that's "only" for a small while). That shit is a live possibility (but not likely) and scary as fuck!

This is really sad. She was a kind and friendly person whenever I encountered her as a grad student at Columbia.
I am so very sorry to hear about the passing about my friend and colleague Professor Kimuli Kasara. She was a brilliant scholar and a bright, funny, warm person. I remember first meeting her as the only other Black woman/faculty at the Columbia political econ seminar and feeling relief/happiness

'Land's End.' (c1914) There is an obvious overlapping with Laura and Harold Knight's subject matter, but their approach was different. In Laura's work, we can feel an immediacy, Harold is more restrained, meticulous and his work rarely involves people.
