Nearly half of the friends I had Thanksgiving with are moving to another country in 2026. And they are not just talking about it, they've made the plans.

What will it take for regular people to understand that if they refuse to stand up against fascism they will not be spared? Fascism is a serial killer with no restrictions on who it targets.

It does. Proven over and over. We choose to do this, to punish the sin of poverty. We pay extra for the cruelty.
“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

It costs a lot less to house people.

Obviously, there's bigger news happening right now, but Senate Republicans just voted against releasing the Epstein files. Every Democrat voted to release them. Susan Collins was the deciding vote to protect Trump and others named in the files.

This study is from last summer, but remains valid. There is no housing shortage; US companies aren't paying people enough to afford what housing costs. news.ku.edu/news/article...

Study finds U.S. does not have a housing shortage so much as a lack of affordable housing.

This calendar year, the Vanguard Total Stock Index fund, which includes only US stocks, is up 9.4%, while the Total International Stock Index fund is up 21.4%. Many companies in the rest of the world are doing far better under Trump, despite the tariff chaos.

Ignorant, impulsive, unnecessary, reckless, dangerous. And all an act of vanity.

A great part of the health, wealth and security of a country is due to the work of its scientists. The US benefited greatly from the exodus of Jewish German scientists before and during WW2, and now other (mostly European) countries beckon our defunded scientists. If I were one of them, I would go.
