So thrilled to see Labor's new (and youngest) senator, South Australian Charlotte Walker, calling out Pauline Hanson's disgraceful opposition to Net Zero. Hanson went on Sky News and complained about Walker, which is a great sign that the message was delivered loud and clear! 👏
New Labor Senator Charlotte Walker also spoke out against the motion

Beaches are littered with fish carcasses and scientists warn they are only ‘the tip of the iceberg’ as underwater habitats deteriorate.
But the spineless weasel keeps approving planet killing fossil fuel projects. 30 and counting.

Excellent article. Well worth reading
Doomscrolling turns our phones into misery machines—and makes us see the world as a mean, scary place. Here's what happened when @jenmercieca.bsky.social's @tamu.bsky.social college students tried hopescrolling instead: zps.la/4edne0b

Just reposting this which I think is the most gorgeous thing I have seen in my career - a critically endangered orange-bellied parrot feeding on a carpet of daisies after an ecological burn. This was the first time they’d had the chance to feed naturally in 15y and was wonderful to witness

Can 2025 be a year when we go beyond outrage (about global warming denial AND the death machine AKA the "military-industrial complex")? Both catastrophes driven by incalculable sums of money (lobbyists), ethics-absent MSM, and politicians.
We can together insist that people and planet come first.

Wow! Is there any such thing as private fire-fighters?
Crikey.
Makes me think that it'll become a thing in the future.
“Will pay any amount.”

Feels like one of those futile pleas we’re going to hear from wealthy people more and more in the era of climate change.

The government’s electoral reform bill is deeply flawed. It entrenches major party advantage, creates an uneven playing field, and misuses public funds for party expenses like loans and travel. I urge the government to send this bill to inquiry and deliver real reforms that protect fair elections.

🚨Listening to annual climate statement & response. It’s clear the Coalition wants to take Australia back, slow down transition to renewables & extend use of fossil fuels, still reckless to increasing impacts from climate change & costs on Australians. We cannot afford to go back off track. #auspol
