Mars Volta & Deftones were in my area months ago. I always miss things because I don’t pay attention. I missed Diamond Cafe too.

Choose 20 books that have stayed with you or influenced you. One book per day for 20 days, in no particular order. No explanations, no reviews, just covers.

I like some ambience or silence. I’ll put on instrumental music to match the vibe of the book, or just rain/thunder. Other people’s noise I find more challenging to read around.

This or that: Would you rather read with background noise or in complete silence?

#onthisday in 1820, the Essex whaling ship was sunk by a sperm whale 2,000 miles from land. The story inspired Melville; Nathaniel Philbrick's prize winning non-fiction account, In the Heart of the Sea, was adapted by Ron Howard 10 years ago. Below, a news account.

Decided I am going to read Les Misérables by Victor Hugo for the first time beginning January 1st, 2026. A chapter a day, 365 chapters, making it a year long read! Is anyone else out there doing this or down to do this? Are there any groups? I'm very excited!!

Okay, so these are the books I have bought (mostly thrifted) recently. It's a sweet haul if I do say so myself. All of the titles & authors are in the alt text! I'm not sure which one I'm most excited about starting soon.

47 pages. This book is so, so funny. The part where he's arguing with the policeman I was visualizing it like the video of the "Democracy Manifest" guy 😭 Just so self-important. It's a riot so far

Read this! Really creeped me out. I didn't know much about The Years of Lead in Italy, or really of Turin. Very interesting, I'll be thinking about it for a while. The themes of paranoia, surveillance, the collective oversharing/tension but still so lonely... all applicable today. #booksky 📚💙 💙📚
