I'm called Mama Watt not just by my kids but many of my friends from West Africa where I lived for 22 years. I am a follower of Jesus Christ and I love learning about other cultures. I have worked in trauma healing, taught ESL to immigrants and refugees.
Having just been in South Africa this op article explains more of what I noticed. Racism is still there, but it's very subtle.

Many white evangelicals celebrate Jonathan Edwards as a theological giant but minimize the fact that he enslaved a young girl named Venus. They question the ‘orthodoxy’ of liberation theology but not the heresy of owning human beings.

This is what the room where Donald Trump is being inaugurated looked like on January 6, 2021.

I did not watch the inauguration. I listened to Biden's farewell. At PT they had the inauguration on but thankful it was muted. I wore my Just Breathe intentionally and my black workout clothes. Dr. appt today and more appts for Jan 31. I feel wiped out from PT successful in remaining calm today.

If your cup is empty or low, I totally get it. Even just boosting/liking/Reposting is enough. This is a marathon, not a race ❤️

Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) said it's interesting Pete Hegseth is so up in arms about reducing standards for women in the military.

That's exactly what he's asking the Senate to do for him for SecDef.
