I'll be playing a shorter version of this piece live on the 29th November at The Traverse, Edinburgh - it's fairly epic at nearly 8 minutes long, enjoy! 😀 #sologuitar #solo #etude #study #composition #performance #livemusic #newalbum #edinburgh #gigs

Climate breakdown is driven by a storm of lies. This lying is systemic, funded and coordinated, and operates across almost all media, old and new.
This week's column argues that we cannot fight the climate crisis without also fighting the epistemic crisis.

🚨 BREAKING

The SNP have just blocked our motion, confirming they no longer oppose the Rosebank oil field application.

If Rosebank goes ahead it'll be a grave act of environmental vandalism. This is a huge step backwards for Scotland's climate action.
Today the Scottish Parliament will vote on our motion opposing Rosebank.

The oil field would release a massive 250 million tonnes of new carbon emissions into our atmosphere, 50 times as much as previously admitted!

We must put people and planet first, not corporate profits.

Once every 20 years or so, the director-general of the BBC is forced to resign for being insufficiently rightwing. Alastair Milne in 1987. Greg Dyke in 2004. Tim Davie in 2025. The great irony is that the BBC was in all cases profoundly biased towards established power. But just not biased enough …

So this year will be the third hottest year on records - stretching back 176 years…big deal - but the first and second hottest years in that 176 year period are last year and the one before.

What's going on with studio theatres?

Since the pandemic, smaller secondary spaces have quietly declined – with dire consequences for emerging artists. Could some new openings and different approaches help buck the trend, asks @hollywilliams.bsky.social

Of all the great Prince albums, I think this just might be the greatest Prince album.
I've been a fan of Prince for the best part of 40 years now and have been listening to this album regularly for most of that time but I don't think I'll ever quite get used to how brilliant it is. From the songwriting to the musicianship to the stunning photo of him on the cover.
