Thinking that perhaps Pruitt Taylor Vince is an inspired choice to play Pa Kent in the new Superman film.

For most of the day I’ve been dwelling upon CIVIL WAR’s odd and unexpected use of the music of Suicide.

Walked into a gas station today to purchase a Gatorade and as I did so “Only A Memory” by The Smithereens played over the system. Spent the rest of the day thinking about the late Pat DiNizio and the band’s stellar discography. We should all listen to “Behind The Wall Of Sleep” more often.

Considered watching the new Netflix show but ultimately decided to continue doomscrolling and remain immobile under a blanket. I think I made the correct decision.

Books designed to be read only by human eyes are different from books designed to be read by machines, which is why Google will tell you that the phrase “shake my booty” can be found in an 1863 English translation of Don Quixote.

Lamenting the trend of remaking classic films from days of yore as postmodern slasher flicks. Yes, I just watched IT’S A WONDERFUL KNIFE (in which Justin Long inexplicably elects to imitate the vocal stylings of the Dorothy Michaels character from TOOTSIE). Oh, well.

Enjoying the epic melancholy vibe of the “Lonesome Dove” score on this lazy Saturday. Composed by Basil Poledouris (who, by the way, also created the theme for the short-lived 1980’s television show “Misfits of Science”).

Today, on a video court appearance, one of the lawyers asked to move the next hearing date because he would be at ComicCon on the proposed date, and the judge all all the lawyers were unanimous that it sounded like a much better thing to be doing. Maybe he’ll invite us all.

Overslept this morning for the first time in many years. Late to work. Slightly jarred by the experience. Without evidence, I blame Daylight Savings Time.
