Please Alabama friends, take this opportunity to have a real government
So I’ve made it official folks: I’ve filed the paperwork to run for Governor of Alabama. It’s time to remind this state of who we are and what we can accomplish together.

Should we have a constitutional amendment to block men from voting? It’d take so much pressure off. They could concentrate on their jobs and leave government and pesky social issues to women. This is sarcasm but why aren’t we having this debate?

At what point do we believe Trump is trolling his own supporters?

I for one really resent feeling sorry for Marjorie Taylor Green.

It is nothing new for them to rationalize raping children. I’ve seen too many mothers blame their daughters for fathers raping them. Too many children shamed in church for what grown men have done. They don’t care. They’ve done nothing to show they care about children. Why would this be different?

Well I hate to remind people but we saw what he did to that microphone last year. So he knows how. Maybe Bubba will come forward and say it’s true

I still can't believe the president admitted on live TV that he has no idea who he's pardoning—and the media largely ignored it.

I think he should lose his deposit. It’s not landlord friendly or approved.

I was asked recently who my favorite poets were and I said Maya Angelou, Amanda Gorman, Langston Hughes and Emily Dickinson. There are so many issues I’ve never faced but their voices have helped me try to understand. Who are your favorites?

Oooo yes!
They are so easily conned.

So has anyone gone to Walmart and bought last years items in the Thanksgiving basket to see what the difference actually is? It would be hard because I don’t think they charge the same prices at every store.

Who would have standing? I think this a great idea
Someone on the left needs to be the one to sue CBS. Let's see what CBS will do with that, shall we?

That was the thrust of the presidential immunity discussion. The camel is in the tent and it’s falling down.
The Trump administration is basically claiming the right to kill anyone anywhere, with bombs or missiles or drones, for any reason or for no reason, with no evidence provided. Not great.

Under Trump, the Law Is Just a Speed Bump
The president’s spurning of the War Powers Act is just his latest claim that he can wield deadly force outside the law.

This. I’m looking at comments by people I know that are conservative and they all blame Democrats for the shutdown. They believe all the lies.
The GOP has learned there is absolutely no downside to just making shit up. They will not be punished for it, and the people they're fucking over will not even take their junk out of their aggregates.

Maybe he thinks passing is an 80? Like that was a C when I was in school. So he thinks it’s like a good enough score to go on the next class

This guy is also running for Senate in Maine. There are multiple people running that don’t have Nazi tattoos to explain.
I've been getting a lot of questions about tattoos, so time to fess up — I have one.

I got this tattoo a few years ago as a reminder of what hope and a positive vision can do in our politics. And yes, I knew what it was when I got it.

First it is part of the White House. It’s the East wing of the White House, same as the West Wing is part of the White House. Second there are legal procedures to make changes. None of those were followed. Third, the frigging government is shut down and Trump is building a temple to himself!

Yes. What happened to us being terrorists? And I saw almost no counter protests
Republican rhetoric all week was clearly aiming to either depress turnout or inspire visible maga pushback. Neither happened and the press doesn’t seem particularly interested in exploring the implications of that.

Had an interesting exchange about the no kings protests. She asked why the Covid restrictions weren’t considered fascism. I asked who had imposed those restrictions and she said Biden. She’d completely forgotten that Trump was president during the shutdown. They can’t remember four years.

Kinda seems like whether or not the president has the power to assassinate people with no due process, no input from Congress, no review, no oversight, and with no obligation to provide anyone with any information or evidence other than “trust me” is an important test of our democracy.
News on Trump boat bombings --> Now that SouthCom Commander Alvin Holsey has resigned, likely over the bombings, ranking Armed Services Dem Adam Smith tells me committee Ds will demand Holsey's sworn testimony and press Rs to join them.
