Short description of the god of conflict in #aifron, my #Pathfinder2e #TTRPG setting. War isn't strictly the god of war, but it's the name they were given across all languages.
A cloud of smoke in military fatigues gives a peace sign - an angel of War. It has a single eye drawn on a dollar coin-sized disc for a face. Its description reads: DEITIES OF AIFRON: WAR, Deity of conflict. A hard fact of life not to be romanticized. Still, twenty thousand years of stories Worship their worst form. Even their very own name references their great evil in most tongues, this name that countless people worship. Even though people know of the barbarity of warfare, they hold it in the highest regard, celebrating the utter destruction of their own brethren. War lives to kill itself. They sponsor soldiers, diplomats, antagonizers, police, criminals, partisans, politicians, peace-makers, terrorists, the victimized, and any other person bound for any sort of conflict, blindly lashing out to make it stop. One day at the end of time, war will fall to their own hand and, finally, be happy. A caption below the angel reads: Above: An angel of War. To worship war, fight for what you believe in. With a cause so personal, they might give you the providence you deserve.
