I love the Rose Parade. I love Star Trek. So how cool to see the Enterprise back in it this year, to celebrate Star Trek's 60th anniversary. Congrats to everyone involved! The Star Trek nerd in me couldn't help but go back to revisit the Enterprise's previous voyages on a Rose Parade float....

Ah, New Year’s Eve, that wonderful time when you have to give part balloons a tracheostomy. Fortunately, the patients all survived.

Thanks to vibe coding, I now live to refactor. Which I had no idea about until one of my sons who does code said "Woah, that has 4,000 lines! No wonder everything is screwing up!" The AI that built the giant file agreed….

I've been using a Pixel 10 Pro Fold for about a month now & am in love with folding phones. I'd seen more people using folding phones out in the wild, not early tech adopters but just regular people like a cab driver and thought "Wow, maybe these are having a moment?"....

Finally found space for my two Swift spacecraft from Space: 1999, cousin to the Eagle. Nice to have them out of the boxes; aren’t they beauties? One in retro Dinky green; the other as seen in the Brian The Brain.

Public drowning demonstrations next month! Of the Harnham Water Meadows … no member of the public will be harmed. And they’re looking lovely this evening.

Bought a Christmas reindeer at the market and was thrilled it has both British and American lighting options. It’s a subtle but important difference. Can you tell which is which?….

I had no idea this technology existed until recently. It’s a “Tiny TV” that plays Star Trek episode clips & you can change “channels” with a tiny remote. So very happy to find one for sale, just arrived!

Am I vibe coding now? Asked Gemini to make me the old Star Trek game I played in high school on a timeshare system. And woah, it did. Told it about some glitches that it fixed. Then I thought "Could this be Voyager vs the Borg?" It did that & suggested adding a new ablative shields / armor option.

Had an MRI for the first time yesterday (all is totally fine, was just a “let’s be really sure” thing). Anyway, what I never realized from all the times I’ve seen one on TV were the sounds. It was amazing. Like music. Best I’d describe it, felt like I was inside a Daft Punk album.

I was mixed on the USS Enterprise LEGO at first because it looks so blocky from the bottom. But other pictures from how you’d more likely see it from the top are cool. Ro Laren as the mini-figure for the free shuttlepod is fantastic. www.lego.com/en-us/produc...

I now own a Star Trek Strategic Operations Simulator arcade game that I played as a teenager. Many quarters were spent. Unfortunately, I can’t fit inside with it being a Hallmark ornament and all. Otherwise, it’s perfect
