These reflections help guide how I structure my month ahead, because the vision I craft for the year doesn't actualise by accident. It happens when I carve time out in my calendar to review my vision, assess progress made, + look ahead for how to best support it in the months to come.

Not much to offer different than what I'm reposting beyond: you will be okay; you have no choice.

I'll post the video again, highly recommend. Dooming is a privilege. Those who've been oppressed b4 already know optimism is not optional: it's "itll be ok" or die.

You gonna die? To **these** hos?

In light of today's news + the uncertainty, if not outright fear, it evokes, I'm reflecting on + finding hope in the gathering we had this morning in our community food forest. Shared coffee, food, discussions about community, food security, foraging + edible local plants. Much needed connections.

Stop what you’re doing and watch this immediately.

Canadian doctors returned from Gaza and are sharing what they witnessed and lived.

They are demanding action from Mark Carney.

Their testimony is our failure.

Today's gratitude is for a leader in our community who is engaging ppl in our neighbourhood to create a food security plan. Yes. Yes. Yes.

I can’t stop thinking about this framing when it comes to climate. And I don’t mean “doom” as in “I feel badly about this situation,” but as in “it’s too late.” Someone responded to my post about the impact of climate activism yesterday calling it hopium. Two people who follow me liked it.
Doomerism is libs' and lefties' way of obeying in advance.

President Trump says “we need Greenland for international safety and security” and an upcoming visit there by US Vice President JD Vance has angered Greenlanders. Behind all this is a bigger story about growing competition in the Arctic. #AJStartHere with Sandra Gathmann explains ⤵️

Eyes open. I can't help but think that causing 'elbows up' in Canada is meant to be a distraction from seeing this. Story after story of people being illegally deported, ignoring judges' rulings, and people literally disappearing from contacts + records.
They are just disappearing people off the street. Having a hard time thinking about literally anything else.
Not sure if this has been shared here yet, but this is video of Rumeysa Ozturk's arrest posted by WCVB. It's terrifying.

1/ Had a counselling appointment this morning. I am hyper aware we need better national mental health supports. I mean, the things I'm working through are 'just' regular human things we need to work through AND I have access to benefits.

The American experiment to see if you can replace complex government departments with five twenty-something Call of Duty players who bleed Red Bull, say “noice” unironically, and think women should take sexual harassment as a compliment continues to go…not well.

Bro big or bro home, dudes.

Ah, this headache calls for rest. A long shower. Warm beverages. A cozy audio-book. Wrapped up in soft clothes and blanket. "Doing" the bare minimum. And that's what happens when you're inexplicably awake at 4:17am. + now it's time for tea.

Overwhelm isn’t a sign you’re failing—it’s a sign you need clarity. When everything feels too much, I ask myself: "What’s the one small step I can take right now?" What’s yours?

Having one of those days where I know what I should be doing, but continue to stare blankly at the screen...wondering whether I should blame staying up too late, the state of the world, too much caffeine...or not enough. I'm reminded of Anna in Frozen 2...just need to pick the next right thing.

If Hamas had killed 7 Israelis inside of Israel this week, it would be one of the biggest stories in the world, & all over the US media.

But Israel killed 7 HUNDRED Palestinians this week, including almost 200 children, & yet there's little outrage from our politicians or media.

This morning is a morning of overwhelm + muddled focus. Ugh. So. 1 put on music, dance, sing, tidy. 2 drink water. 3 brain dump everything. 4 reassess priorities. 5. pick one thing + take a small action. Repeat as needed. It helps.
