The auger clutch cable on my snowblower broke, yay. Picked one up with the right ends from Canadian Tire for 30 bucks but it was a little too short. Turns out I need a specific one that's essentially identical to the one I returned but a few inches longer. It is TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY DOLLARS. WHY!?

Hadn't necessarily planned it this way, but just decided to end 2024 by signing off on the paperwork for some @iamsuburban.bsky.social approved transportation, set to arrive in 4-6 months. It will be goodbye to the trusty green A4, which has been a great car!
Have a great New Year, everybody!

I'm getting ads for combine harvesters on YouTube now. I am fine with this.

Does anybody have experience with/opinions on the Chevy Tahoe?
Strongly considering looking at a well equipped 2024 RST 6.2 that's 9k off sticker (but is silver - boo).
Should I wait for the updated 2025s instead, knowing that I'll probably end up with a 5.3 and fewer creature comforts at the price?

Finally got around to watching the Mario movie last night. Did anybody else find it surprisingly lacking in substance? It all just felt a bit hollow, like the movie was only there in service of the references within, a la Shrek 2.

I was just thinking that, being the massive edgelord meme kid that he is, I'm kind of surprised Elon Musk didn't insist that Teslas use wheels with a 4.20" PCD and 69mm centre bore.

The AI in GT7 is so bad it makes Toad in MK64 seem fair. WTC900 at Trial Mountain, consistent 1:44 laps, pit half way for fuel and tyres. AI drivers are a full 8 seconds per lap slower (race starts you 40s behind). Take the lead, and magically, the AI drivers can lap 10 seconds quicker than before.

Saw a PT Cruiser convertible with about ten degrees of positive camber on the right front wheel on the way back to work. Somebody should tell them that ovals are generally run counter-clockwise.

Saw a VW Taos with the plate TEA888. Proceeded to spend entirely too much time wondering if it was referencing the VAG EA888 engine (even though the Taos uses the EA211, maybe they transferred the plate from another VW?)... or maybe it's just coincidence and the person likes tea and the number 888.

I wasn't sure if I was going to get the new EA/Codemasters WRC game, but there's a bunch of F2 kit cars in it (including my beloved 7-speed Mégane and the 306 Maxi), so I guess I have to.

I have no idea how BOTH of the flagship racing titles for the two major console platforms can fumble their career progressions so badly with how much experience their respective developers have. Bizarre.

One thing I haven't seen anyone mention about Gran Turismo 7 is that the cars look really weird in motion when viewed from the outside.
They just move in such an unnatural and unusual way when you watch them in replays, sort of sliding across the track. Direction changes look odd too.
Just me?

Vancouver received its first ambulance in 1906. Its very first appearance was in a parade where it ran over a guy, took him to hospital, and then he died. (presumably of irony poisoning)
