During the “Wicked” TV Special, Marissa Bode who plays Nessa Rose, introduced the song “Defying Gravity” saying “Elphaba stands up to a power-hungry dictator” (a remark which earned thunderous applause). Though entirely true in the context of the narrative, her comment was censored and cut by NBC.

8th Nov 1975, David Bowie made his US TV debut on the Cher CBS-TV show. He performed his hit song "Fame," sang a few songs alongside Cher, and concluded with a medley of covers. Bowie who was living in New York at the time had written the song with John Lennon during a jamming session. #Bowieforever
