I'm a pattern juggler and love to affect inflection points great and small. I love fast cars and smart women, prefer rain to sunshine, and can appreciate moments of extreme discomfort. We live in the age of the empowered individual.
Cars and crowds don't mix. What happened in New Orleans mirrors what's been happening around the world where firearms aren't nearly as accessible as they are in the U.S. A car killing 10 is a distilled tragedy, but how many die each year from cancers associated with pollution related to cars?

I moved often, ended up in eight different schools, including four high schools. My clothes, accent, history and perspective were all different. Fights happened often, but I was also a sort of ambassador among the different tribes. I never had a mentor or anyone I idolized, and I hated teachers.

I'm in my late forties and this is the first car I've purchased that wasn't the most responsible A to B ride. Handles like a dream, fast enough at 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, decent gas mileage for what it is... I'm about to drive it across the country, and I can't wait to hit those canyon roads.

I've decided to have my retirement ceremony at the airplane graveyard in Tucson, AZ, in front of the plane my grandfather was shot down in during the Vietnam War. The Martin B-57 Canberra; he was potentially supporting Hmong guerrillas in Laos, if a retired CIA CO I once spoke with was correct.

My wife just baked cookies for my therapist. The man first met a completely wrung out me two years ago after I spent 45 days in rehab. His empathy and understanding helped me get through several serious lows on that dangerous rollercoaster that is PAWS. Moving soon, definitely going to miss him.

Let’s fucking go. I was at the Madison protests in 2011 and it was my defining moment of radicalization. I am animated by the venom of pure hatred I hold for Scott Walker and the need to see his legacy undone

Big cancer scare is over. Terrifying symptoms, CT scan showed a 4cm mass, no appetite for months; the procedure didn't find cancer, but it also didn't identify whatever it is that's causing my issues. I just had an actual meal and feel ok again, sucks all this happened around Thanksgiving.

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record.

They run them bc people react to them the most.

If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.

It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

They will halt on January 20, 2025 when Trump takes office, noting the “threat to democracy and freedom of expression posed by the cooperation between the president of the most powerful country in the world, Donald J. Trump, and the richest man in the world, Elon Musk…”

Trump's biggest cheerleader has lost everything, you'd think all the rich fucks who surround him would toss this dog a bone...
A whining Rudy Giuliani asked a judge for special treatment today, saying “I have no car, no credit card, no cash, everything I have is tied up, they have put stop orders on my business accounts, and I can’t pay my bills.”

I’m sorry, but boo f*cking hoo.

Not a lot of good news, at least there's this. I've watched several people I loved whither away mentally and forget the world before finally leaving it. The slow death of their personality terrified them and left those they loved forgotten.

If you're white, more places are the right place, more times are the right time, and you're more likely to be the right person for whoever is hiring. I understand that white privilege exists, but I've never understood why it continues to exist. The negative economic impact of racism is quantifiable.
Privilege allows luck to happen a lot more frequently, at the very least.
The more you learn about privilege, the more you think luck is just privilege in disguise.

It's not about going high, it's about highlighting hypocrisy to those who believe they have the moral high ground as defined by their Christian fundamentalism. The Republican Party increasingly resembles Sodom and Gomorrah. It's got it all; infidelity, pedophilia, and rape.

I bring a case of Spindrift with me wherever we go. It's a low calorie alternative for any of us staying away from booze, and it mixes well. I'm fortunate to be able to spend this holiday season present and aware.
Note for the upcoming holiday season,,, some of us are on a sobriety journey and mocktails or non-alcoholic beer options make a big difference 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

The cost of this will be staggering, from the actual cost of executing it to the second and third order effects. I hope it's a forcing function to streamline immigration, but I'm confident it'll just promote atrocity and make everything more expensive.
