As we all await the outcome of what feels like a make-or-break election, I want to offer some perspective, if you’ll hand a fellow with eight-plus decades the mic for a moment.

Prefer to store Quarto parameters in a separate .yml file? Unfortunately, passing the .yml file directly only works in command line, and not in the `execute_params` arg of `quarto_render()`.

Solution: the `yaml.load_file()` function!

Do not, under most any circumstances, use the information provided in the AI summary

At the very least scroll down to the blurb from the first article, and better yet click in and confirm

Pretend like it isn't there
my wife googled “united airlines customer service” the other day and the AI summary seemed legit enough so she called the number that it listed. she got like 30 seconds into the call before they were asking for her BANK INFO. a scammer had gotten their number prominent enough that the AI grabbed it.

I don't care if the US auto lobby cries foul over "protectionism": American pick up trucks have no place on British roads

They need to be regulated out of existence in the British market, ASAP
These vehicles are a risk to everyone, especially children.

They are too large, lethally designed and have a huge environmental impact.

Regulations in UK and EU have to urgently be updated to stop more of these being driven on our roads.
Coming to the UK: ‘aggressive’ pick-up trucks that duck safety rules

Redundancy

I have until mid-January to find another job.

If anyone knows about SQL jobs (developer, optimisation, design, all sorts, currently specialised on Snowflake but have plenty of experience in other fields), let me know.

Due to this, available now...

Loving BlueSky, but am conscious my feed is too male-dominated.

Keen to find UK-based women to follow talking about poverty, housing, growth, work & wages, ending domestic abuse. Or the West Midlands. Or UK politics.

Please reply if that’s you!
