The moderates and fascists are going to be terrified. They’re going to be desperate and, just like we saw with Cuomo, they’re going to increasingly side with one another.

That’s what history teaches us and it’s on us to be ready for the fight. And, if we are, we will win.

Walmart, McDonalds and Amazon are the largest employers of people who require SNAP assistance.

The CEOs earned between 18-40 million last year, 1000x their median employee income.

They took billions in profits, while their workers relied on SNAP to survive.

Wanna fix fraud and abuse?

Fix that.

The Right’s core claim is that they represent an authentic, “real” America that is constantly being victimized - made to suffer under the yoke of leftist/liberal overreach, and therefore rightfully aggrieved.

And so many leading Democrats/liberals look at that and go: “I agree.”
Most people who write about politics, right or left, have internalized the concept of the Trump supporter as the authentic american Volk and so many of their conclusions proceed from that

This FCC does not have the authority, the ability, or the constitutional right to police content or punish broadcasters for speech the government dislikes.

Free speech is the foundation of our democracy, and we must push back against any attempt to erode it.

As we prepare for the coming weeks, for the impending federal law enforcement surge and seemingly inevitable military escalation, I'm keeping the words of the late Karen Lewis at the top of my mind. "Does it unite us, does it build our power, does it make us stronger?"

The proposals are based on real data
They have had signals of efficacy

It may feel hopeless today but:

I refuse to give up.

Venting at Democrats and Fearing Trump, Liberal Donors Pull Back Cash
Demoralized donors are frustrated with Democrats’ failings and worried about retribution from the president. Their frugality has left liberal groups struggling to fight the new administration.

I get this dilemma but….And so what? Being on the plane to amplify more lies and propaganda?

The WH press corps is being used as a prop. Spend the time reporting instead.
Consider the possibility that the Trump White House WANTS this fight. Wants journalists to act like opponents instead of observers. If the entire press pool skipped a Trump photo op in solidarity with The AP, wouldn't the White House welcome Breitbart and One America News to take their places?
And, are you or your colleagues boycotting covering the WH as a protest?

I do not know a single person in DC who has not been directly negatively impacted by the "sudden disassembly in flight" of the U.S. government. In most cases the impact is major and professional and pyschological as well as economical. You might shrug it off and say, "It's about time."

This.

Regardless of your views on USAID or foreign assistance, this is an assault on the rule of law.

Trump/Musk lack any such authority.
Has congress passed a law superseding or eliminating the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961?

Has the Supreme Court declared it unconstitutional?

Then why are journalists reporting that Trump and Musk are "shutting down" USAID. They are not authorized to do so.

It’s hard to appreciate how much our crisis has been worsened by media and media consumers regarding pressing problems as “boring,” including climate, class, and education.

It’s left us to fight over sensationalized stories designed by the wealth class to dominate discourse and hide their actions.
