As someone who lived & practised law in a country where the Chief Justice was unlawfully impeached, where judges / lawyers received threats for doing their jobs (2009 - 2015).. the speed at which things have devolved in the US is frightening

It only took him... checks notes... 13 years to come around to that conclusion... it was not just that the government attempted to impeached the chief justice.. what was problematic was the unconstitutional & authoritarian manner in which they did it, even ignoring orders of the Supreme Court. As much as people should keep pointing out that the things they are doing are illegal, I'm also cognizant of the fact that they just keep doing them.
