Starting trade wars to make it easier to take over the government was literally the plot to the Star Wars prequels.

The perfect bike stand.

The Sheffield stand is already great as it provides locking points at front and back.

But its flaw is if it's removed from the ground due you can just slip the locks off the bottom.

This fixes that with a bar.

Now, a thief would have to steal your bike *and* the stand.

Really good piece, this. There’s understandably a desire to skip ahead to “Sadiq Khan just expands Ulez” - but “Ken Livingstone’s tweaks to the congestion charge in the 2000s” (and dare I say it, introducing zoning in the 1980s) are important steps there, too.
New from me: Gov. Kathy Hochul keeps talking about London when she's asked to explain why she 'paused' congestion pricing. So, we explore how lessons from the UK could shape a compromise that gets New York's program moving again (and avoid a MTA budget crisis) -- www.curbed.com/article/cong...
Scaling Back Congestion Pricing to Save It
Here’s a proposal that keeps the core of the plan intact but addresses Governor Hochul’s chief concerns.
