Not the only one..... I'm told.

Passed the bar, spending my life in public defense.

Likely thinking about cats at all times.

My mood for the next 35 years (give or take).
The lesson we should all take from this travesty is simple: If this ethics compromised hack can get a book deal with prose that reads like it came directly from a moody teenagers diary, anything is possible.

Pitch that book idea, write that play, finish your novel. We can do it.
I regret to inform you that Olivia Nuzzi's book appears to be Perfect

insane, stupid, comically overwritten, dishy, politically indefensible I cannot wait to get my hands on it I must accept this is who I am as a person at some deep level whether I like it or not www.vanityfair.com/news/story/o...

Different week, different continent, same shit calls against Miami....

Maybe it's bias because I watch a lot of Dolphin football, but it feels like we consistently get hosed on these terrible calls.

This is my most 'ADHD melding with Lawyer Brain' take:

Nobody is forcing you to stay on Bluesky. If you don't like the moderation, leave and go somewhere else. There are dozens of social media apps.

You sound like the guy at the bar complaining about how all the other bars in town are better.

Support independent media but also this is not what happened
Epstein offered the NY Times photos of Trump with young girls in bikinis during his first campaign in 2015.

The NY Times declined them because they were just too busy hyperventilating over Hillary’s private email server.

Support independent media.

I know it's pointless to point this out because Republicans have no morals or shame, but this is so goddamn hypocritical.

I'm so done with these worthless fucks. Democrats need to start calling them out and shunning them from society.

"It's immoral and ableist to mock Epstein's shitty grammar and spelling because unnamed hypothetical people have learning disabilities that cause them to struggle with grammar and spelling" is such a peak Bluesky take it feels like a terrible parody you'd see from a Ben Shapiro bit.

If your rights are on paper only, with no path for vindication and assertion when they are violated, then you have no rights and we as a culture lurch closer to massive violence.

It's amazing how the idiots in Congress and the hacks on the courts don't understand this basic idea.

For context, in the two months leading up to this murder, the Whitestown, Indiana Police Department investigated a total of 33 crimes against persons. In a town of over 11,000 people.

Even allowing for overlapping investigations, that's a miniscule crime rate.

the thing that upsets me about this the most is that Dems had all the momentum, republicans were reeling, and we were getting intra-GOP fighting over the filibuster, all while voters were blaming republicans for their incompetence

this destroys all of this. just a total gut punch

The Democratic Party is useless as an opposition and even worse as even a left-of-center force.

We are led by privileged senior citizens who are completely clueless about the moment we face.

Using this logic, schools can't bar students from using racial slurs.

Also, the "solution" to this is for any student misgendered to punch the offender and start a fight, proving the use of slurs causes a substantial disruption.

Finally, Fuck you fascists and keep Tinker out of your mouth.
BREAKING: The Sixth Circuit, in a 10-7 en banc decision, holds that an Ohio school district's anti-bullying policy that requires students to use children's preferred pronouns is likely unconstitutional on these facts.

If Democrats don't immediately move to pack courts, they have absolutely no concern for civil rights.
Each day I think this Supreme Court can't hit a new low, and each day they manage to surprise me.
NEW: On the shadow docket, the Supreme Court lets Trump resume misgendering trans Americans on their passports, claiming "the government is merely attesting to a historical fact without subjecting anyone to differential treatment." All three liberals dissent. www.documentcloud.org/documents/26...

I skimmed the opinion. It looks like the bonkers 5th circuit is doing the judicial equivalent of "I'm not touching you!"

They pretend that because the drag show plaintiffs don't put on shows that violate the text of the law, there's no risk of injury. Because of course nobody would abuse this law.
BREAKING: The Fifth Circuit vacates the injunction against Texas's anti-drag law, but remands for further consideration of one part of the challenge — a facial challenge to AG Paxton's enforcement of Part One of the law.

Background: www.lawdork.com/p/texass-ant...
Texas's anti-drag law is unconstitutional, federal judge rules, permanently blocking enforcement
The ruling from a Reagan appointee leaves Matthew Kacsmaryk's ruling defending West Texas A&M's drag ban as an outlier in drag cases. An appeal is expected.

And unsurprisingly, he's lying about the content. The Court made findings that the images were of nude women, often pulled from Playboy and Penthouse.

They also specifically said if they saw a similar picture of a man, they'd "probably throw it in the trash."
