As a Fulbright Scholar, I am disheartened by the trumpian interference in one of our most successful international programs. Fulbright scholarships have been largely free of political intereference until now. The dismantiling of American science and scholarship continues without regard to our laws.
The Fulbright Scholarship board resigned due to political interference from the Trump administration. The State Department, led by Marco Rubio, is canceling scholarships for nearly 200 American professors and researchers based on their research topics, which include climate change, gender, and race.
