Trump just instituted the most crushing tariffs in modern history, higher than the Smoot Hawley tariffs that devastated the economy, highest in the world by a huge margin.

Every newspaper: “Trump enacts new tariffs, some prices may go up”

Unidentified men grabbing someone off the street and putting her in a car because she wrote an op-Ed. This as flatly authoritarian as anything we’ve seen in this country in a very long time.
Video of the international student at Tufts being arrested by "federal authorities" in Massachusetts has been released and it's terrifying.

They're not even uniformed officers. Just secret police thugs in hoodies and masks.

Do you think, if Joe Biden was like “we’re going to cause a recession but after that we’ll have a golden age,” that the Washington Post would say “oh he’s just not explaining his plan very well”?

Elon Musk claims DOGE has saved $55 billion, but the numbers don’t add up. DOGE released a list of canceled contracts totaling $16 billion in supposed savings. However, nearly half of that came from an $8 billion ICE contract—except that contract was actually worth just $8 million.

A good article. SCOTUS's recent regulatory opinions are so sweeping and terrible that the Fed is undoubtedly unconstitutional now.

The situation is so bad a former Fed Board member wrote a whole law review spitballing ways they hope conservative Justices will deliberately avoid their own precedent.
