/4 Trump and ICE and the rest of the fascist scum can murder and lie and oppress, but they can’t kill that decency that some real Americans have. They don’t have it, they are inadequate without it, and it infuriates them. But they can’t kill it.

And while, yes, I understand perfectly well that Trump won by a whisker, that millions of voters opposed him, I nonetheless think it's inarguable at this point that the collective We -- the US, its people, its leaders, its institutions -- wanted this.

I look at my social media from even a few years ago and I was so energetic, so eager to make people see what was going on. These days I just feel drained and hopeless. What is left to say that isn't obvious? What isn't on the surface? It's all right there; you see it already or you refuse to see.

And I just think you have to understand that about these people, they're barely capable of formulating the question "why should I do this?" - the fact that other people don't want them to but they can and therefore they're demonstrating their power over them by so doing, that's it, that's enough.

We're all expecting the talking points memo-era Bush administration approach where they're all coordinated, but each one of these guys has his own little audience and online brand so getting everyone lined up on one official lie doesn't really matter
