And today I took my mum out from the care home. Her latest foible is spotting escapees from That Place, & having to hide from them. You may be surprised to know we saw 17 elderly escapees in the garden centre, the waitress, 4 toddlers & a biker gang outside a motorbike cafe on the way.

Yesterday I spent most of the day with my new, rather endearing deaf lodger. He doesn't know the area, so I took him to one of our favourite dog walks & we had a lovely ramble. I'm practicing my BSL & Effie loves her new dog housemate. He'd asked me to show him how to make a pasta dish too.

I should add, (as my post yesterday seemed to arouse some emotions about the kind of behaviours teachers work with in primary school) that we work with up to 18 pupils at any one time, in my unit. We are trauma trained & this is almost always the root of the most complex & challenging behaviours.

I have a new lodger. She moved in last night. She’s called Zia & she’s thoroughly gorgeous. She has brought her human with her, as she’s a hearing dog & he rents one of the bedrooms, but she likes a bed in the hallway. (The human is also nice.)
