Authors, if you see this, it’s a sign to post the first line of your book.

“I feel my need fracture like innocence, and ask myself, what now?”

Nagaraja, WIP, contemporary novel of a young gay man who comes to believe he is turning into a monster. Is that enough to save him?
Authors, if you see this, it's a sign to post the first line of your book,

"As the soul comes to a child at the moment of hatching, so the soul flows into each day when the beak of the sun first taps at the horizon and cracks the egg of night."

Everybody's Perfect, coming from Tor June 2026
Authors if you see this, it’s a sign to post the first line of your book.

“At the centre of every village stands the smithy, where you can expect deals to be shaken on and conflicts to be shaken out, but if you need fairy-smithing you must travel the miles to Gyrford.”

I tend toward a “whimsical” approach to punctuation :D
I mean, I use the comma splice all the time, it provides a very specific cadence I want when I use it, particularly for social media communication, moreover punctuation is not proscriptive, particularly commas, which were originally used for pacing purposes, which is indeed how I frequently use them
Please fix that comma splice. Do it for all the people who follow you and might think comma splices are OK. Thank you!

I wrote a column about why anyone who says they’re not voting because Kamala Harris sucks need to suck it up and vote anyway.

This contains fighting words, but it’s also one of the most sincere things I’ve ever written.

I want folks to come together as a “civics Voltron” and fight evil together.
You are not too good for the common good
I am deeply worried about how rigged the American democratic system is, but still we must vote.

1st year of marriage! Went to the beautiful Wildflower restaurant, where the menu is based on Indigenous Australian seasons and ingredients. The smokey, bush fire-like whiskey cocktail was incredible, along with the marron toast. Best night, and best year ever!

A whole class of musicians now knows me as Dr BDSM… it’s not what it sounds like! We were discussing referencing general knowledge, and I said if someone of your general level should know it, you’re covered. Then I recounted having to define BDSM for my thesis. It’s innocent if you think about it

A request for dog people: please muzzle your dogs. My poor greyhound was attacked this week by an off leash, un-muzzled dog. He’s recovering well now, but amputation was an option for a few days there. Look after your dogs
