I really hope we don’t have another pandemic both because that would be horrible and because the team Donald Trump is assembling would undoubtedly make it so much worse.

NEW: Judge Tanya Chutkan dismissed the charges against Trump in the DC election subversion case without prejudice. This allows the Justice Department to refile charges once Trump is out of office.
BREAKING: Special Counsel Jack Smith asked a federal judge to dismiss the charges brought against Donald Trump in the DC election subversion case. Smith asks for the case to be dismissed without prejudice and leave open the possibility for charges to be filed again in the future.

Like others, I fear the threat of government retribution, political vengeance and an angry right-wing mob. But I know that giving into it will only strengthen Trump and undermine the future of our democracy. Trump wants us to be scared. He wants us to give up — gradually and then suddenly.

Donald Trump and his team have continued to refuse critical transition documents with the GSA because they don't want their nominees to undergo FBI background checks.
Senators should vote NO on any nominee who is not vetted by the FBI. Pass it on.
