See ya then. Off you fuck.
US Congress map showing US bases across Europe.
Many of these installations are not meant solely to “protect” Europe; rather, they are primarily designed to enable US power projection toward the Middle East and Africa.
For US security, Europe matters far more than Greenland

I really like Star Trek: Star Fleet Academy for two reasons.

1. It’s a wonderful portrayal of a better future we can build, together, by being the best of who we are. A future that’s better through decency, collaboration, and the search for knowledge.

2. Stephen Miller and Elon Musk hate it.

Some BIG DEAL things about the upcoming #ArtemisII mission to lunar orbit:

- Humans beyond Low Earth Orbit (LEO) for first time in 54 years
- First woman beyond LEO
- First person of colour beyond LEO
- First crewed Orion mission
- First lunar flyby with humans since Apollo

Points 2 & 3 important!
The very big rocket that will be taking four humans on a journey that will be the furthest any humans have journeyed from everything on Earth in 54 years - incl. every living being that we know about, will be rolling out in ~12 hours from now.

It's slow TV.

But with a big rocket. 🚀

Just watched the first episode of #StarTrek #StarfleetAcademy and I'm here for it. Some right good actors, good humour and all that stuff. Best thing since sliced bread? Nah, but very entertaining and I'm basically here for anything Star Trek tbf because it's about progress, unity and collaboration!

The former president of South Korea has been sentenced to serve five years in prison in one of eight criminal trials.

The most significant charge he is facing is leading a rebellion, which carries a potential sentence of death.

‘War for Greenland is boring, let’s talk about the Tories’ is genuinely the weirdest thing for a former ambassador *to Denmark* to say, apart from anything else

Let Iran be a lesson. We need multiple small user-owned internet service providers, user-owned satellites & towers. We can't trust corporate ISPs / Government to keep us online during a state of emergency. Meanwhile, get a police scanner, make friends w/ your local HAM radio club + walkie talkies
#Iran: We are relieved to hear that #ErfanSoltani will not be executed today. However, reports say his death sentence has only been postponed. International scrutiny remains vital as Iranian authorities continue to target protesters and restrict internet access.

“Nicolas Maduro is now being held in a New York prison while the US liberates its oil supply, leaving international law lying in a coffin that, by this point, is already 99% nail.”

Love it.
'What is that supposed to mean? That the law is obsolete in the face of a white supremacist sexual exploitation material-generating machine?'

It's the first column of the new year and it's grimmer than ever before, my friends.

The idea that journalists, politicians, groups or - you know, women, people of colour, LGBTQ+ people - should "stay on the pitch" doesn't really hold up.

First thing to ask a politician come any election canvassing: “Are you or your party using Twitter?”

Let that determine how welcome they are at your front door.
Yesterday I posted my last ever Tweet and called on the Government to do the same.

Read more below on why I think it’s time to leave the cesspit formerly known as Twitter.
