While a pupillosarcoma's growth is primarily local, metastasis to other organs has been documented in the lymph nodes, bone marrow, and brain.
As chemotherapy is not an effective treatment, these cases are always fatal.
A sagittal MRI cut of the brain. Several large, empty holes pepper the brain tissue, and some smaller ones spread through the brainstem. The primary pupillosarcoma can be seen in the front of the face.

You’ll probably see this screenshot floating around a lot but it really was wonderful to see Lynch put a scene in Twin Peaks: The Return where he has his character literally stare at the camera and say that you should either support trans people or die. I needed to hear that in 2017

i know it's cringe to post star wars as ~revolution~ or whatever, & that's not what this is, but I do think about this sequence from Andor a lot bc I know how paralyzing it is to feel overwhelmed. So, I'll continue working in the lanes where I feel the most needed/helpful.

It was because he wanted there to be conspirators. It was much better to imagine men in some smoky room somewhere, made mad and cynical by privilege and power, plotting over the brandy. You had to cling to this sort of image, because if you didn't then you might have to face the fact that bad things happened because ordinary people, the kind who brushed the dog and told their children bedtime stories, were capable of then going out and doing horrible things to other ordinary people. It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was Us, then what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Am schlimmsten ist für mich das Schweigen der Meinungsmacher_innen auf Twitter. Das zeigt mir, dass ich all das wohl schon verdient habe. Es gibt klare Kriterien welchen Frauen man beispringt und ich gehöre, unabhängig der realen Situation, nicht dazu.

Wiederholt drängt sich der Gedanke auf, die Richterin habe Vorurteile. »Warum haben Sie gestohlen?«, fragt sie weiter, worauf die Moldauerin antwortet: »Ich hatte Hunger.« Darauf erneut die Richterin: »Wenn Sie Hunger haben, warum gehen Sie nicht zurück in Ihre Heimat?« Im anschließenden Plädoyer spricht die Amtsanwältin von krimineller Energie der Angeklagten, hat aber auch einen gut gemeinten Rat: Es gebe Essensküchen und die Tafeln.
