Every so often I get someone reaching out to say how disappointed they are to learn about ShadyVox's treatment of me, and they'll add that they're also sad about Scratch21 breaking up.

I always try to make it clear - Scratch21 can't "break up." It is one person. ShadyVox.

He is simply in hiding.
An interaction on Reddit where someone replies to me saying: "Heartbreaking... Can't believe I'm only finding out about this two years later... Never even knew he had been making these songs in his personal channel. I'm sorry for you Mark, and sorry for any other band members who had nothing to do with his shit behavior, the band didn't deserve to end just because one member was doing this foul shit. At least I hope they weren't just turning a blind eye to it..." and my follow up response that reads: "'m sorry you had to learn at all, honestly. One thing I'd like to note, however. The band is not "disbanded." The band was never a band of multiple people. It was all Shady. He wrote the songs, he performed the music. Alone. This is documented by his many streams where he talked about this. He cast people he knew to play the part of the other bandmembers. Two different performers played Riley, over several years. Nothing has changed with the band setup. He simply could go back to performing and releasing music tomorrow if he wanted to. He'd just have to recast the people playing Ed and Cooper, because I assume they'd be reluctant to jump in and do this again without him at least acknowledging his behavior publicly. Scratch21 is one person, and he's still alive and capable of making music. Maybe one day he will again."

They say, “For me, it fluctuates more extremely.” Sitting exhausted at a messy desk, they admit, “I only stop when I’m too tired to go on. The word I learned for all this was ‘lazy.’ I never learned a healthy measure or how to trust myself.”

Went to The Struts concert on Friday as an early birthday gift from my wonderful girlfriend. Had a wonderful time, didn’t even know it was Luke’s birthday. They sang the entirety of their debut album for the event, and it was so freaking awesome. Was very hoarse at the end of the show. 10/10

As a party to the Genocide Convention, the U.S. has a legal obligation to obey our own laws, stop weapons sales to Israel, and demand a permanent ceasefire.

The Commission recommends that all Member States: (a) Employ all means reasonably available to them to prevent the commission of genocide in the Gaza Strip; (b) Cease the transfer of arms and other equipment or items, including jet fuel, to the State of Israel or third States where there is reason to suspect their use in military operations that have involved or could involve the commission of genocide; (c) Ensure individuals and corporations in their territories and within their jurisdiction are not involved in the commission of genocide, aiding and assisting the commission of genocide or incitement to commit genocide and investigate and prosecute those who may be implicated in these crimes under international law; (d) Facilitate the investigations and domestic proceedings and take action (including imposing sanctions) against the State of Israel and against individuals or corporations that are involved in or facilitating the commission of genocide or incitement to commit genocide; (e) Cooperate with the investigation of the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court. 258. The Commission recommends that the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court: (a) Examine, within its continuing investigation in the Situation in the State of Palestine, the crime of genocide for amendment to existing arrest warrants and addition to future application for arrest warrants; (b) Examine the involvement of officials mentioned in this report for inclusion as those most responsible for international crimes committed in the occupied Palestinian territory.

I have written and deleted a lot of posts but I keep thinking about how the brutal assassination of Minnesota State senator Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark, and their beloved dog Gilbert in June did not prompt this same level of calls for empathy, sympathy, and flags at half-mast.
