Only a Labour MP could draw an equivalence between Polanski and Farage.
We face huge challenges. A burning planet, war in Europe, an affordability crisis that most people think they will live with *for the rest of their lives*.

And what do Farage and Polanski offer? Division. Migrants vs. non-migrants. Businesses vs. workers.

Although Starmer is now more critical of Brexit, he is still couching it in terms of it being implemented badly, rather than inherently unworkable.

This is a gift to Reform, and makes it clear that Labour's Brexit position, if it's shifting at all, is doing so with the speed of continental drift.

This is a useful thread on the controversy today. But away from the detail, when BBC Verify have to effectively fact-check their own Political Editor (who is *not* a columnist but an Editor at a public broadcaster!), you know there is something of a problem.
Did Rachel Reeves and the Government “mislead” people about the state of the public finances and the need for tax rises before the Budget?

I think this is a rather complex question & the answer is not black and white.

A thread…🧵1/12

Not being surprised – inaction is our enemies’ lifeline
A sense of outrage, déjà vu and exasperation at the state of the present – the comment “I’m not surprised” is not relevant, the question should be, what to do?
