Orange County, California. Formerly the place where good Republicans went to die, now the place where the GOP wackos and grifters go to run for office.

I see people doing Bluesky self-introductions, here's mine: former journalist living in and almost exclusively posting about Orange County CA, once a bastion of Reaganism (& the John Birch Society), now a hotbed of GOP lunacy. Here to document the demise of the OCGOP and its loony tunes candidates.

As California families struggle with the cost-of-living crisis, Rep. Kim is flying business class and staying in 5-star hotels while keeping her constituents in the dark about who's footing the bill.

The Office of Congressional Conduct must hold her accountable for this unethical behavior.

Young Kim failed to report trips to Israel, South Korea, San Antonio, New York City and Williamsburg, Va. from her personal financial disclosure reports. She brought her husband on the trips to Israel and South Korea, which included accommodations at five-star hotels. 👀

"We’re not going to stand by while anyone—including federal agents—abuses their authority in California. The new portal gives Californians an easy and safe way to speak up, share what they see, and help us hold people accountable. No one is above the law.” Amen Gavin Newsom.

Young Kim also took advantage of subsidies to put solar on her home then voted to eliminate them, but she's not mentioned in the article because she doesn't live in the house anymore - it's now a rental property. Must be nice!
GOP Congressmen: “Cheap solar energy for me—but not for thee.”

This is shameful. Attacks on clean energy projects by Trump and his cronies in Congress—like Rep. Ken Calvert—are raising electricity costs for working families. www.politico.com/news/2025/11...
Meet the Republicans who killed solar subsidies — after using them
POLITICO’s E&E News examined satellite imagery of more than 100 homes owned by Republican lawmakers to see if they have solar panels. Seven had rooftop arrays.

Representative Kim (R CA) is an immigrant born in Incheon, South Korea, a democratic republic where the president is head of state, and there is a multi-party parliament. A typical Republican, she is known for stretching the truth until it resembles something entirely different.

Hey @chriswarcraft.bsky.social I think this would be an excellent campaign issue for you: Gracey just voted to allow booze to be sold right next to a playground. Knowing her, the vendor is probably a donor. Anyway, great example of how wrong-headed she is and just how wrong she is for #AD72.
The Huntington Beach City Council votes 5-2 to grant a pair of Conditional Use Permits that would allow the sale of alcohol at the Huntington Beach Sports Complex.

Chad Williams and Andrew Gruel voted no.

Dozens of residents also commented that they thought it was a bad idea.
