A month into my new job and I want to throw up thinking about going in tomorrow. Adulthood is a trap.

I took off my nail polish and got acetone all over my hands and washing with regular soap wasn’t helping. Some girl on Reddit said to use toothpaste to wash your hands. So I did and it worked but now my hands are tingly 🥲

Having survived the Lahaina fire storm and now watching the LA fire storm, I am convinced we need to retire the "once in a lifetime" characterization. We are living in the time of climate change & insufficient infrastructure investment. This will happen increasingly & we need to meet that reality.

We all agree this Netflix fight streaming experiment is objectively bad, right?

A lot of people responsible for poor decisions are on a press tour right now because if they didn’t, people would rightfully be questioning THEIR leadership and they know it.

It’s weak even by normal left-punching standards. Zero evidence more Liz Cheney would have won this. The opposite, actually.
First quote in this new @politico.com story is from RI's Dem committeeman Joe Paolino: "The progressive wing of the party has to recognize — we all have to recognize — the country’s not progressive, and not to the far left or the far right. They’re in the middle” www.politico.com/news/2024/11...
Centrist Dems seize opening at the DNC: ‘I don’t want to be the freak show party’

Bluesky right now feels a little like all the Whos gathering to sing after the Grinch stole their floofloovers and jingtinglers.

Hi. You made it to the weekend. Have you eaten something?

There's no valor in unnecessary suffering or working yourself into the ground. You are worth taking care of. Stay hydrated, get enough sleep, and try to make plans for something fun tomorrow. You still deserve time to play, rest and recover.

ok one more "how we do it on bluesky" re: "block, don't engage." it's not that anybody wants to tell you what to do -- it's that we collectively realized that this is what works. it works really great! zero, zero response needed. just block! don't argue at all with dickheads! try it! you'll see.

To President Biden and all elected Democrats: Stop playing by rules that no longer exist. At this point, it's not just spinelessness, it's complicity.

Folks on here just posting thoughts and shit they like without catering to an algorithm or ragebait is insanely refreshing. Just for the love of the game

Assuming that there will be no rule of law, no checks or constraints of any kind, is a form of complying in advance.

Asserting that there _ought_ to be such things is a form of demanding them, and forcing their elimination to be seen as a rupture.

It’s looking like e-mails to my members of Congress are part of my morning routine again. Thanks, @indivisibleguide.bsky.social for making it easy.

Just a quick note to those new here, if you think someone's post is worth other people reading, repost it. Liking it does not have the same effect here as on the dead-bird site. There is no algorithm. That's one of the reasons we like it.
