There's no straight roads to get into this career, and there are absolutely no straight roads when you get to this career. It just doesn't exist.

Years ago at night I was exiting parking lot into a busy through-fare I had never seen any human for years. I got distracted by something falling in my car, looked up to see a pack of kids on bikes in road under dark.

I think lot how different life would be under slightly different reaction times.
Stop glancing at your phone while driving.

Every glance is a roll of the dice. What are you going to miss in those 2 seconds? Maybe nothing, but you are risking lives. Yours and others.

One glance down you miss a dog , a car, a person.

Please. Stop gambling a hundred times every time you drive

Today they have crossed a deep red line.

We, the people, must hold the president and his appointees accountable for this outrageous abuse against American liberty.

There’s a common theme in the comments here. Make sure security is a collaborative effort and keep those lines of communication open.

Here's my blogpost in support of Krebs. It's different enough from those by @stamos.org or @k8em0.bsky.social that it's worth writing, though the conclusion is much the same.

Deafening Silence From The Cybersecurity Industry
Chris Krebs affirmed the 2020 election was secure. Now he's the target of an Executive Order—and the cybersecurity industry’s silence is enabling a dangerous precedent.

"Krebs said he understood why some have kept a low profile and tried not to further anger the president....'[But] I don’t think this lay-low-and-hope-this-blows-over approach is the right one.... I was sanctioned by the Russians and I’ve been effectively sanctioned by my own government as well'"

The thing about chasing charging speeds on-par with gasoline refueling is that, as I've said zillions of times, day to day charging at home or work can be slow AF and you won't care (so for the love of god get more chargers at workplaces and apartments etc.) and also

ffs you could just be patient

CISA says not to use consumer VPN if you want to follow CISA best practices.

I am very happy to see this. I have ranted about personal VPNs and the FUD marketing for what feels like ever.
